-Ooni of Ife Helps Release Inmates
Renowned Yoruba monarch, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, along with his wife, recently assisted in freeing five inmates from Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja. This act was to mark the monarch's 8th anniversary on the throne.
During the intervention program, Ogunwusi expressed, "I am here for the real people who need hope. Your condition today will be history tomorrow." The monarch paid fines to secure the release and pledged support for the inmates' rehabilitation, providing equipment for skill acquisition.
Temitope, the monarch's wife, noted that the event aimed not only to celebrate the ruler's reign but also to reflect on societal issues. She highlighted the importance of forgiveness and second chances.
Acknowledging the Minister of Interior and correctional service authorities, she praised their efforts in reforming and reintegrating inmates. The Controller of Corrections FCT Command expressed gratitude, ensuring dedication to the mission of inmate reform and reintegration.
